6:42 am - Reason 3000 why vegans should go away

There is now a vegan strip club in Portland. The owner Johnny Diablo objectifies his employees in the video with 'no meat on the plate just on the stage'. They even move like Vegans on stage...

3:44 pm - What's marinating in my fridge right now:

Beef I'm defrosting in my fridge, doused and soaked in: sugar, black pepper (a LOT), apple juice, tabasco sauce (tiny touch), sage, and spoonful of chinese ginger powder that I dumped it before I realise it wasn't the grounded garlic, %&^*(^

Ginger instead of garlic is going to make it taste weird...meh.

The apple juice, honey, and sugar, should make it soft.

Good article written from the pov of a pet owner, who also loves to eat rabbit meat. Unfortunatly, the vegans are speaking up with the usual bullshit, how their pets eat vegan foods, meat eaters will die of cancer, etc.

They are at it again. This time on her website calling farmers, and meat eaters nothing but a bunch of murderers. Some of them are also bitching her facebook(check the link I posted a couple of days ago) about how nobody respects vegans. They are also flipping out over the slaughter house footage. If you guys haven't watched it yet, you should, its pretty cool.

There is some serious vegan wank going on on the oprah facebook. Farmers are standing for themselves against these idiots, but our comments are also getting deleted& some speaking out have been banned.!/oprahwinfreyshow/posts/123159141090805

The show seemed to be pretty well balanced, till the end. Where they gave PETA credit for changing the way we slaughter animals. Then the vegan chick they interviewed started to whine and cry about how she didn't like the footage they showed of the beef killed in the slaughter house(they showed a document of it at the beginning of the show). Oprah and her other guest pretty much told her to STFU. It was quite lol.

My eight year old nephew was watching it with me, when they toured the slaughter house. He thought the giant chain saw they used to cut up the carcasses was pretty cool.

2:39 pm - Get a Load of This

So a vegan has come to my personal journal because of what they read here from a post of mine. Apparently, they did not like me stating that I was an ecology major and bashing vegans because I wasn't being fully academically correct even though the post they are talking about was a rant because I was frustrated and not academic in the least.

Here is the post, which was just a personal post which they just chose to randomly comment on: (For some reason it takes you to the bottom of the page, you have to scroll up to see her first comment)

I could rant about it but I have already written a lot about the subject in commenting with this person. They come off very smug, thinking that their opinion is superior and that they do more for than the environment than myself or any other omnivore who is also an environmentalist.

8:30 pm - Animal Rights Activists Cause Environmental Catastrophe

Mob of marauding minks snacking on woodland creatures
Published: 19 Mar 10 11:19 CET

Thousands of minks are marauding through the Brandenburg countryside, killing chickens and woodland creatures after suspected animal activists released thousands from a fur farm.
Police said they are still searching for those responsible for the break-in at the farm in Frankenförde, which resulted in the release of 4,000 minks last Sunday evening.

About 2,000 of the weasel-like carnivores have been captured, but the other half have been snacking freely on local farm fowl, wild birds and other small animals, police reported.

Meanwhile the mink farm owner Alfons Grosser has filed charges for €180,000 in property damage and unlawful entry while saying there was no way to measure the impact to the region's ecosystem.

According to Grosser, the rampaging pack of mink requires about one tonne of food in just three days.

German nature protection association (NABU) said the release of so many mink is an environmental catastrophe.

3:12 am - There is Hope!

I come bearing news that I officially was able to convert a moral vegetarian back to eating meat. Can I say that I do feel a bit accomplished.
The story behind this was that this girl was a freshman as my college this year and some how wound up getting in with the group of friends I usually hang with when I am on campus. Now, the irony here is that she was a moral vegetarian and she comes to an agricultural school where we raise beef cattle, something she was against but she is paying tution for to help those practices! I mean, really? Why would any moral vegetarian or vegan come to an agricultural school when the practices they are against can be seen from the parking lot?!

Anyway, enough with that, I got to talking to her and she proceeds to tell me that she is a moral vegetarian because of how we slaughter our animals and how it is this vicious, horrible act (Insert generic PETA description here) of humanity. I look at her and say "Really?" and she replies with "Yeah, I have seen the videos and everything, you should really check this stuff out". I then retort to her "Yeah, I have and you are wrong". She gives me the look of how-dare-you-say-I-am-wrong and I proceed to explain to her that I have first hand experienced what animal slaughter is reall like because I was an intern for the USDA FSIS as a Food Inspector Intern, I have seen slaughter and I told her that all animals must be slaughtered humanely, and what this means that the death must be quick, and painless, and this is achieved by stunning the animal and then slitting it's throat so there is no suffering what-so-ever and the animal has a dignified death.

This shut her up quickly and she started to talking to other people which eventually lead to her coming back to meat realizing it wasn't as horrible as she once thought.

8:45 pm - Man dies after setting himself on fire outside fur store

A man set himself on fire after pouring gasoline on himself outside Nicholas Ungar Furs at 12th and Yamhill Wednesday morning before police used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames. He later died from his injuries at the hospital, police said.

The man was identified as 26-year-old Daniel Shaull from Kansas, according to the Multnomah County medical examiner.

It was not immediately clear whether Shaull was protesting against the store, which has had problems with animal rights activists in the past, but witnesses said he was screaming about the treatment of animals.

“There are animals dying! Animals dying!” witnesses said Shaull was screaming as flames engulfed his body and shot above his head.

“He tried to run into the building,” said witness Mike Cheema who owns a food cart a few feet from where the incident occurred. “The door was locked. He couldn’t get in. He came right out screaming, ‘the world is ending, animals dying!’”

“I looked over … flames, burning. I thought he was crazy,” said another witness L.C. “It was traumatizing. It was horrible.”

“I saw a guy that was running around with his arms waving, and he was completely on fire,” said Julie Sies who was walking to a dentist appointment at the time. “He was just screaming and asking for help.”

Witnesses gave different accounts of the path Shaull took while he was on fire. The fire blackened the sidewalk and charred remains were scattered about the area, including what appeared to be a footprint.

Shaull taken to Legacy Emanuel Hospital where he later died.

No one at Nicholas Ungar Furs wanted to comment on the incident.

So this guy decides to go the road of self-immolation for animal rights in front of a store that sells fur, yet forgets to keep in mind the store hours. Nothing like setting yourself on fire and then running into a locked door. Good job!

2:58 pm - Vegetarianism Healthier than Omnivorery?

I come up against this arguement constantly when talking to vegetarians and vegans saying it is healthier for not only the animals but yourself as well and the planet! And I have no doubt that other tenets of this community have come up against this but is this really true?

Of course not.

Never have I once ever seen these actual studies these people base their claims on, ever! They just shout these random facts hoping people listen to them and if they don't, they bring out the old videos of animals getting slaughtered hoping to get people's emotional goat. Did you know that meat has a 70% of causing cancer in our colon? How much horse crap is that? They make these claims but never back them up. Then they point to the fast food industry as proove saying that vegentarians avoid that when fast food has plenty of unhealthy vegetarian items as well there are ways to cook meat in healthy ways, do fast food chains do this? No, but when have they ever been any sorts of healthy?

They make claims that we can not digest raw meat when we can digest sushi just fine as well as native cultures consuming raw meat just fine. Not to mention, doctors say that rare meat is healthier than well done meat so what the hell, how can we not consume raw meat?

Also, what about brain development? Evolutionary biology studies show that when early human ancestors added meat to their diets, it allowed for the massive expanse in brain size and intelligence that has lead to all this. Not to mention the vitamin B12, an important nutrient to brain and nervous system health, can only be aquired effieciently from consuming other animals. You can get it from plants but you need to such high amounts of vegetation that most vegetarians and vegans have to take B12 supplements.

I like to eat a natural diet as possible that is well balanced because if being an ecology major has taught me anything, things in balance tend to better than things out of balance. And being omnivores, the only way to have a natural balanced diet is through the consumption of meat next to some vegatables.
